The entrée system offers many pricing methods which provide extreme flexibility and control over margins and profit. The most basic of these pricing methods is the ability to set up to 99 different price levels for each item. By linking a customer to one of those levels in the Customer Maintenance utility, the user can set price levels for individual customers or groups of customers. This section will detail the available options of the Pricing Setup tab.

The default settings for each of the price levels is configured on the Pricing Setup tab.

Level pricing for all items subsequently entered in the Inventory Maintenance utility will utilize the specified configuration as the item's default values.

The settings provided for each price level are only meant as default settings. The level pricing configuration may be subsequently modified on a per item basis, on the Cost/Price tab of the Inventory Maintenance utility.

If global level price changes are desired, they must be performed using the Modify Level Pricing utility.

Round 'floating' prices (Sys Opts #29 & #30)

The editing features in various parts of the system, including Inventory File Maintenance, have been updated so that if the “Round 'floating' prices” option here is enabled then “floating” price entries will be limited to two decimal places (normally four decimal places).

When a price edit is finished the appropriate rounding will be applied immediately. So, if you entered “1.23” (only two decimal places are allowed) and then the nickel rounding would be applied changing the value to “1.25”.

Rounding applies to both Level and Special Prices which are "float" prices.

Enabling this option only matters if System Option #29 or System Option #30 are active.

Update 'float' prices using current inventory costs (V3 calculations)

This option has been added to provide legacy float price updates capabilities. When this option is checked the behavior of the updated pricing calculations will change to emulate the legacy float price update behavior in entrée prior to release 4.0.38. This option allows the legacy pricing system to update "float" prices.
