158. Use special invoice design when generating PDF (e.g., for e-mailing)

Controls a new document substitution feature in the PDF generation process in Print Invoice.

Many distributors generate their  entrée invoices on a pre-printed form which, of course, does not appear in an electronic copy of the same document. As a result, when an invoice is generated in PDF format for e-mailing the generated document might seem a little cryptic because the labeling provided by the pre-printed form is not present in the PDF.

To avoid this problem we have changed the operation of Print Invoice so that, when the "Print to File" option is enabled, the print process will automatically switch to an internally-defined document design which is based on one of our laser invoice designs.

The design of this document is similar to that of the "Type MB" invoice including the ability to print a company logo in the upper, left-hand corner of the page.

If you normally print your invoices on a pre-printed form then consider activating this option #158.

While the main purpose of implementing this feature was to facilitate the e-mailing of invoices, the key to the e-mail feature is the ability to generate a document in PDF format. When System Option #158 is enabled then any processes which result in an invoice being generated as a PDF will use the alternate document design.

If you already use a plain-paper invoice design ("MB" or "LZ") then the use of the alternate design is unnecessary and you may leave option #158 disabled (unchecked).
