Users can specify new cost, markup, & freight values in this area. The values entered will be propagated to the inventory file when the cost/price update is executed. A brief description of each field is as follows.

Real Cost

This field represents the new real cost of the item excluding any freight charges incurred.

Freight/Suppl. Cost

This field represents the new freight or supplemental cost of the item and will default to the current freight cost as defined in the inventory file.

Cost Markup

Enter the desired cost markup, which may be percentage or dollar based, in this field. This field will default to the current cost markup as defined in the inventory file.

Base Cost

The base cost field is automatically maintained by the cost/price update dialog to represent the sum of the entered Real Cost, Freight/Suppl. Cost and Cost Markup.

If the default value of the base cost is overridden when the cost markup type is set to a percentage of real cost, entrée will warn the user that it must adjust the cost markup to an appropriate dollar amount to compensate for the difference between the real and base costs.
