The entrée system in compliance with the Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) allows for lot based items to track key DHEC data. Because this DHEC related information is usually only required by distributors dealing with fresh seafood, the DHEC related fields will appear disabled unless system option 28 is enabled.

The DHEC Shellfish Report is a useful tool for reference when dealing with DHEC controlled items.

Printing DHEC Labels

Typically if a distributor needs to track/maintain DHEC information for a particular product the same information must be printed on a label and physically attached to the product before it can be sold. This process allows shellfish products to be properly tracked in case they need to be recalled.

If DHEC information is entered for the lot being received, entrée will prompt the user to print the DHEC labels at the time of receipt.

Click the No button if DHEC labels do not need to be printed.

Clicking the Yes button will open the Report Setup dialog.

The default selected printer will be the one that was assigned to Labels on the Printers tab of System Preferences in the System ribbon menu. To change the default printer click the Properties button.

The number of Copies will default to the number of units that were physically received, but it can be changed if needed.

To start the printing of the DHEC labels click the OK button. Click the Cancel button to bypass the printing of DHEC labels.

The image above is a sample of a typical DHEC label. They are printed on pre printed forms, typically on a dot-matrix printer.

The entrée system only prints the values in the information area, not the entire label.

Harvest Date

The value in this column represents when the item was harvested.

This information is used primarily with fresh shellfish items.

The harvest date is printed on DHEC Shellfish Tags.

System option 28 must be enabled to track the harvest date of the item.
