The unit of measure (UOM) represents the physical form into which the item is packed.

 

•Up to 4 characters may be entered for the product's unit of measure.

• Enter the product's unit of measure or click the drop-down button to choose one from the drop down list.

 

 

The automatic breaking of cases feature in the entrée system will only work with the following predefined units of measure.

CASE     PC.     LB.     HALF    QRTR

 

•The item's unit of measure does not necessarily determine how the product sold.

 

 

To set up a roast beef item which is sold by the pound, but it is packed in a CASE:

 

1.Set the unit of measure to CASE.
2.Enable the Price by Weight option.
3.Define the Average Weight for the roast beef if the weight varies from case to  case or the Constant Weight if every case weighs the same.

 

 

The Cost/Price Update utility was modified in version 3.6.6 so the "PC." item will not be updated unless it is explicitly defined in the "Piece Item Number" field of the "CASE" item. If the "Piece Item Number" value is blank on a given "CASE" item the program will actively look for a "PC." item in the Cost/Price Update utility.

Predefined Units of Measure Chart

 

These units of measure are predefined in the entrée system. You may however, enter any value desired to represent a product's unit of measure.

CASE

 

The item is physically packed in a CASE. It may be sold as a unit or by the pound.

 

PC.

 

The item is sold as a PIECE pulled from a CASE. It may be sold as a unit or by the pound.

 

LB.

 

The item is sold by the POUND only. These items may also be pulled from a CASE item.

 

HALF

 

The item is sold as a HALF case, and pulled from a CASE, literally 0.5 of the CASE item.

 

QRTR

 

The item is sold as a QUARTER case, and pulled from a CASE, literally 0.25 of the CASE item.

 

BOX

 

The item is physically packed in a BOX. It may be sold as a unit or by the pound.

 

EACH

 

The item is sold individually. It may be sold as a unit or by the pound.

 

BAG

 

The item is physically packed in BAG. It may be sold as a unit or by the pound.

 

DOZ.

 

The item is sold by the DOZEN only.

 

BSHL

 

The item is sold by the BUSHEL only.

 

GAL.

 

The item is sold by the GALLON only. It cannot be automatically pulled from a CASE item.

 

TUB

 

The item is sold by the TUB only.

 

PAIL

 

The item is sold by the PAIL only.

 

LOAF

 

The item is sold by the LOAF only.

 

BNDL

 

The item is sold by the BUNDLE only.

 

CNTR

The item is sold by the CONTAINER only.

 

WHEL

 

The item is sold by the WHEEL only.

 

CAN

 

The item is sold by the CAN only.

 

JUG

The item is sold by the JUG only.

 

HEAD

 

The item is sold by the HEAD only.

 

BAIL

 

The item is sold by the BAIL only.

 

CART

 

The item is sold by the CARTON only.

The item is sold by the JAR only.
