% Over Cost

This column displays the percentage over cost that determines the level price of the item. If a level price is derived as a percentage amount over the real, market or base cost, it can be adjusted using the following procedure:
| 1. | Select the % Over Cost field, of the level to adjust and press the Enter key |
| 2. | Enter the new markup percentage for the level and press the Enter key. The value in the Unit Price field will now be updated to reflect the new unit price of the level. |
Floating Price Levels - With the 4.0.38 release the pricing system was changed so that it "remembers" the cost values which were used to calculate a given set of prices. The system allows for deferred updating of "Floating" ($ Over Cost) price levels. When the new costs are finally applied to the prices this arrangement allows the system to correctly recalculate "floating" prices. The process of saving the new prices also updates the "last cost used" value to be ready for the next cost update.
entrée will maintain the markup percentage over the assigned cost method (real, base, or market) of the level whenever the cost of the item is changed.
The % Over Cost is applied to the cost of the item based on the formula assigned to the price level.
